Day Three - Deborah

Day Three meet Deborah

I met Deborah at the local Funeral Home this morning. Deborah does everything from being the first port of call for grieving relatives to accompanying them and their loved one all the way through what is often a very confronting, sad and difficult journey to its final closure at the graveside. Her job description is amazingly varied and one that I don't think just anyone could carry out on a daily basis.

Deborah has a lovely nature and I imagine that she is a perfect fit for her role. Although I was there on a completely different issue, we were discussing about how you never know when your time is up and how you think you are going to live for another 40 years at my age (at least!) but.... Anyway on that note, I decided to be crazy and ask her if she would mind being person number three on my 100 days 100 people project.

As the words came out of my mouth I could feel my inner judgement screaming "you are a fruit loop!!" but Deborah didn't seem to think so and after I explained a little further what I was doing and who I was, she very kindly agreed.

So, the answer to the question for Deborah:

"Who did I want to be when I was a child? I just really wanted to be a wife and mother, that's all I wanted to be". "And did you go on to do that?" I asked. "Yes, I have two children" Deborah replied.
Mission accomplished.
